Why I left IMVU.

I joined imvu back in 2018 when I was feeling alone. I used to be apart of it back in 2010 when I was in high school but when I joined the navy I kind of forgot about it, but I had seen an ad on Instagram about it and gave it another shot. At first I was all about finding people I vibed with. I found a group of people I considered family but as time went on I found so much drama in that group.

I Guess I am Doing This.

I’ve been floating around IMVU for around 12 years now and honestly there’s not much keeping me around anymore besides a few people I consider family. When I first joined it was as a form of escape from the abuse I faced in real life and it helped. I met and lost friends but who doesn’t. When I was around 16-18 I met a beautiful soul CC was his name. He saved me from so many people and just kept me sane and safe. He introduced me to my formally mentioned family. Gin, Lulu and Charlie at the time. They were my everything.

From Hiatus to Creation

I am Tae, also known as xTae7. I first joined IMVU in 2010 and played for a year before taking a long break that lasted 9 years in total. During that time, I worked as a full-time dancer for 6 years, then continued my path as a designer, video editor, and started my own creative agency in rl.

My Past, Present, and Future

My names is Inaralora (lora) I've been apart of the metaverse for 11+ years now you maybes rewinding and thinking 11+years! Lets pump the breaks a little bit and let me explain and elaborate i started my journey on imvu in the year 2014 the whole reason i started was because my family member wanted to stay in touch and for us to hangout even though we were far apart and all so we created my account and we would hangout and all but eventually she an i drifted apart so needless to say i had to venture off on my own and in search of new friends and maybe a few connections.  i was relatively shy so it was quite hard at first i tried out the cafe rooms, alternative rooms, heck even raunchy rooms well I ended up meeting a pretty decent group of friends.  I bonded with them for well 2 years. It was all fun and games little by little I broke out of my shell and cracked some jokes. What i slowly i started noticing that they were not the best crowd to be around and were; how you say your typical “mean girls/boys." I had to unfortunately take a step back and away from them that caused some friction, adding on a toxic connection at the time. It was not the funniest time for me so with that being said and done i bid imvu a goodbye….goodbye to my past

Moth's Creator Story

You know honestly, i had no idea what i was doing joining Imvu. My years on Imvu have given me so many ups and downs, on and off friendships, and drama. However, it has also given me some of my closest friends. Some of the best people I have ever met. It pulled a creative side out of me that most don’t ever see. Imvu isn’t just a place to be social, it is a place to create and learn if you allow it to be. I learned to create solely off the basis of me wanting something custom for myself. Now i make customs for others and i put rooms together for people to hang out in. I think being a creator turns imvu into work in way. Most regular members are shopping and chatting, us creators are online seeing what hasn’t been made that people may like, we make different variations of things people like, and we customize things in a way that aids the regular members. This alone changed my experience. People hold you at higher value when you create. Like- they look up to you in a way. Its nice.

Iris's Journey to Creations

I started IMVU in 2018… to play with friends because it seemed fun, but as I got more into it, and fell out of friendships with the people I joined with. Then I met many new people and the first person I met was 007Karina. My best friend my sister. We both started in an agency where it was just editing and learning.. as time went on i learned poses and how to make something look amazing and make people happy. 7 years on vu, and I had no idea how fast time went. It’s been 3 years now since i officially started modeling in the agency and learned so much more. Made so many friends I still cherish till this day it was like what started off as a just a hang out place turned into a place I called home.. and friends I called family

“It was the end of the world as we knew it”  R.E.M.

When I think of Imvu, and all that it has become, it’s bittersweet. I joined the app at least 10 years ago. Time has flown by. I have wonderful memories of hanging out with best friends, joyful nights full of laughter. We’d all go to our friends room, chill, and have a wild time. We grew together. We thrived together. We got through the good and the bad times; together. We became a bonded community, and no matter what seems to happen, that bond has remained strong. It’s a kind of love, the kind that feeds the soul. Not romantic nor sexual, but a deep rooted friendship between us all.
