Anika and Zion
Our story in parts
1) The Wait
I spent seven years on the IMVU platform growing, learning, and living a full virtual life. I played the role of a daughter, a big sister, and a college student. Watching the love around me (My IMVU Parents) taught me what kind of love I wanted for myself. So I chose to wait for something real.
2) The Turning Point
When I went away to Virtual college in Washington D.C. to study journalism and fashion, my world expanded. My first major assignment was to interview a rising influencer named Zion Cade. To me, it was just work — a simple interview. We spoke and went our separate ways.
3) The Knock
One evening while I was home studying, I heard a knock at my door. I was expecting the maintenance guy who I previously spoke with about a leak under my sink. When I opened the door, to my surprise it, was him— Zion. That moment turned into conversations that neither of us rushed.
4) The Outcome
Today, we are married and raising our first child, Canaan Elias Cade (baby Cade) I can honestly say those seven years of waiting were worth it. I didn’t rush love — I grew into it. And when it found me, it felt like home.
